  We were out driving around on a Sunday late morning, looking for a place to have lunch, I had been to Scotty's years ago when I first moved to Chico 1980, love it there always a fun time, anyway I told my buds let's go to Scotty's!  We had the best time good burgers and ice cold beer, can't wait to go again.

  I always love going to totally funky Scottys.
  
  It's located on the river and the scenery is always changing.
  
  John the owner is a really nice person.
  
  Their burgers and fries aren't bad and neither is the price.
  
  Blues is on the 2nd Wednesday of the month in the summer and is always fun.

  I know so many people who rave about Scotty's, but I don't get it.
  
  We went on a slow Sunday and had the worst time. When we walked in, the bar tender told us to go ahead and seat ourselves on the patio and that there is a waitress already back there. So, we found a beautiful spot and waited to be served. And waited. And waited. And waited some more. Literally watched the waitress walk by us about a dozen times, not giving us the time of day. Even when we tried to flag her down, we got nothin. So we went inside to get some menus. Came back outside, switched spots, and had to order inside because she still did not seem to want to help us. Waited a while, listened to some pleasant live music and enjoyed the scenery. Food was alright, we got burgers and they weren't anything spectacular. When I went in to order a drink, the bartender was on his break and no one was behind the counter. So I waited a while for someone to help me. Waitress from outside finally came in, walked around the bar, and said "whew, it's so slow, I'm ready for our dinner rush!" .... as I'm standing there... wallet open, ID in hand, making eye contact with her, waiting for someone to get me a drink! After I sat back down with a (warm) drink, we finally were just so annoyed that we went back up to the bar to pay our check, which somehow took a while because the waitress was trying to read the handwriting on the ticket and thought it was pretty funny. (??) Did I mention that it was slow? And as in slow, there were only about 5 other people there!
  
  I don't know if I'll be back. It's beautiful there, and I loved the live music, (that's what the one star is for), but honestly, the place is just so run down and dirty, and I felt like I had to work harder than the staff did to get my food and drink! Maybe it was just a bad day for them? I've worked in food service for a long time, so I try to be as polite and understanding as I can in these scenarios, but it was probably the worst experience I've had.

  Visiting Chico from out of town and spent the day on the river.
  Wanted to stop in to enjoy some beers and food but immediately was told when we walked in by the older blonde bartender "dogs aren't allowed here".
  
  Okay then...I'll take myself and my service dog elsewhere and give a more friendlier restaurant my money!
  
  So rude!

  On a good day Scotty's Landing is an amazing place to go. But today we walked in and the waitress who took our order was not very friendly, we smiled and made friendly jokes and she was not amused. We went out on the deck to chill and wait for our food. And than she called us in to get it. Reason why I mention that is because some other people who showed up shortly after us ordered and got their food delivered to them by the waitress. She was smiling at them and joking with them. Also some of the ketchup bottles did not taste very good. But positive remarks was that the food was good.
